Did you kill a cat??

"Did you kill a cat??" Dad asked George this morning.

"No! why?" George replied. Dad was knocked over by our present bad luck eating up our holiday savings and used this old saying.

Why you may ask?
Just this week we got our bus back - that's good news but cost a little more, as you may remember I had some concerns. One, the fridge, thank goodness. Had not been vented properly( in the bus that 'jack built') and had been cooking the cabinets when on gas. A fire waiting to happen!!

But wait that can't be all??
On Wednesday it all hit the fan. Both our cars undrivable. George had tyre and brake problems. Mine wouldn't start initially when trying to return home, then when nearly home I realised my temp gauge, which never moves, was very high. Radiator bubbled and steamed. When George got home he refilled it but on starting her up realised i had a cracked radiator. On going to mechanic was told the head gasket went at the same time. That's all up nearly $5000 in costs this week.

To top it off I have been unable to do anything as I have been sick and was finally told on Wednesday(what a wonderful day)that I had a lung infection and was to remain in bed. Back to dr today,am getting there but need more bed rest till next week. Great I have nothing to do. Yeah.

Oh well! The countdown is still on, Jess' show opens tonight and Life is still Good. And yes, I got Drs permission to go out to see Jessica's 1st performance tomorrow night with some conditions - life is definitely good!!
Look after yourselves everybody!!

Hi Everyone,

Well, the countdown is on ....

18 days ...... to go .

Just an update. Our bus went to the fitter to have some changes made, actually 2 or three, but by the time we left the list had grown and I must admit to being the culprit. All little things that had been bothering me(not George). Was to take a few days, and that was 2 weeks ago, so George's renovations have come to a stop.
??? will the bus be back in one piece in time??
Yes, of course, we have 2 weeks holidays and .... 4 nights working backstage at the Riverside Theatre for the Gang Show and 3 other days at shows with friends and family and ... a CPR course one morning. This is besides cleaning the house and doing the yard and gardens. NO problems!!! It will all be worth it!

Lynne

PS in case you're new to our blog and wondering "what renovations?" I have copied this from our previous blog.

5 weeks and counting down!!

George is busy with renovations to the inside of the bus. A little scary but worth it. Scary you may ask ?.... well .... when one starts cutting perfectly well built (shop fitted) cupboards into smaller versions you have to be a little worried. But I have every confidence in him and..... it suits the budget.

So far - the side lounge/bed removed, the kitchen bench and cupboards cut in half and one half repositioned on opposite side, 4th belted seat removed, wardrobe removed.

Newly built - rear club lounge/double bed, at front-newly built boxes which will convert to Jess' bed at night and be a seat/lounge/cupboards during day, wardobe cut down to fit spare space (at least we keep some wardrobe), new curtains for front sewn

Still to go - small pantry, table for club lounge, doors on cupboards( to be cut down from originals),new basket cupboard for Jess, extra water tank and new connections(currently water to taps has been disconnected by George), some lighting re-installed, and everything to be painted new colour as we couldn't match timber, extra outdoor awnings to be sewn
Bus to go to fitter for some fittings.

Wow that sounds an awful lot ..... But George is onto it.... isn't he good!!!!
